Youth Programs

0947_youth_programs._300.jpgThe club participates in a number of youth related projects. In most cases the club provides some financial assistance to applicants. For the programs that are held at University campuses, schools are sent information directly. The Rotary programs are promoted by the club to local schools. The programs include:

Rotary Youth Exchange: The club is hosting Emil from Denmark from July 2010. In past years ew have hosted: Michelle from Switzerland, Mia from Denmark, Begum from Turkey and in 2009-10, Paulina from Finland. The students attend local high schools and the club appreciates the support of schools particularly Nowra Anglican College. Home hosting is arranged with club members and non-Rotarian families.

Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA), a 5 day camp held in the ACT area for 18-25 year olds

Rotary Youth Program of Enrichment  (RYPEN): a weekend camp held twice each year at Mogo for 14-18 year olds

The Summer Science Experience is 3 days of hands on Science Fun for Years 9 & 10 students. There are a number of participating tertiary institutions and the course is held over the period from October to January depending on location.

The Honeywell Engineering Summer Schools  is held in December and is a 6 day school for students about to enter Year 12 . It is conducted by Engineers Australia. and held in Sydney with use of facilities in a number of Sydney's universities.

National Youth Science Forum  is held in January in many universities in NSW and the ACT and elsewhere. It is a 12 day forum held at the Australian National University, for students entering Year 12. This is highly contested by interview selection.
